Completed in early 2024, Sardis Park Playground in Chilliwack, BC provides a beautiful, barrier-free’ playground aimed at children aged 2-5 years old. The playground also needed to be fully accessible to accommodate children of all abilities.

A ramped play structure from Jambette was used to aid in making the playground accessible, as well as a swing that included an adaptive seat. Lots of sensory features were included as well, such as play panels with music and a sensory mushroom, which help foster exploration, curiosity, and creativity in young minds. Spring toys and a spinner helped to complete the playground, providing fun play opportunities for everyone!

While shade was not originally included in the original plan, additional funding was secured at the request of the city, which allowed sails from Shade Sails Canada to be installed. The addition of a shade to the playground helps provide a respite from the sun for kids visiting the park, allowing them to stay cool while they play. Pour in place rubber surfacing was provided by GPI Masters of Play and included a nature-themed pond design with lily pads, helping to tie the playground in with the surrounding park space, while also incorporating the Rotary Club logo.

With something for everyone, Sardis Park Playground is a fantastic space for young kids to play, explore, and have fun!
